The Ministry of Education is proud to announce the introduction
of its research journal, the Seychelles Journal of Education
Transformation (SEYJET). The objective of this new initiative, is to provide
opportunities to educators in small developing education systems to research,
write and publish articles about education development and advancement, as well
as bring together professionals, who have interest in education development and
transformation. SEYJET also hopes to stimulate a richer research culture and
nurture a newer intellectual atmosphere in the Seychelles and other small
developing education systems.
The Launching Edition will
acknowledge the debt of the work done by the dedicated
education professionals and the Ministry’s
overall contributions in leading the education transformation agenda.
Essentially, it will highlight the works of other practitioners and the voices
of teachers as the main implementers and beneficiaries of the reform.
The Launching Edition will
draw from the fields of policy development, teacher
education, curriculum design and practice, and
professional learning with specific themes such as sustainability, integrated
curricula and citizenship, relevant and realistic programme, teaching and pedagogical innovative practice. As a way
of enriching works that are being done in education in the Seychelles, the Launching
Edition may feature perspectives from other countries especially those with a
similar background to the Seychelles.
The Editor welcomes contributions outside the
Seychelles on themes that embraces the philosophy of SEYJET.
