Eco-School Awards 2025 Recognize Seychelles Schools for Excellence in Sustainability and Environmental Education

The Eco-School Award ceremony took place on 10th December 2025, at the SITE auditorium in Mont Fleuri, Seychelles, celebrating schools that excel in sustainability and environmental education.

Baie Ste Anne Primary and Mont Fleuri Secondary emerged as the top winners, with other schools like Beau Vallon Primary, Baie Lazare Primary, Belonie Secondary, and Independent School were recognized.

Organized by the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Climate , Energy and Natural Resources, the event highlighted the importance of the Eco-School Programme, which has been running for 32 years and encourages all state schools to adopt eco-friendly practices and community partnerships.

The programme encourages schools to adopt innovative approaches to environmental learning, fostering a generation of students who are not only academically prepared but also environmentally conscious.

In his keynote address, Minister David Pierre emphasized that the initiative is a milestone in the country’s journey toward sustainability, aligning with Seychelles’ broader goals of protecting its fragile ecosystems and combating climate change. #ecoschoolseychelles
