The Minister for Education and Human Resource Development,Mr David Pierre met with the Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) on 11th December, to reaffirm and strengthen their long-standing partnership through a constructive meeting. Chaired by Minister Pierre, the meeting was attended by RCSS Secretary General Ms. Mary May Esparon and Programme Officer Ms. Aliza Serret.
Discussions focused on sustaining existing school-based initiatives such as Red Cross Clubs, which instill humanitarian values, leadership skills, and first aid knowledge in students. The RCSS also emphasized its psychosocial and mental health support for both students and educators, as well as ambulance and medical services provided during school sports and youth events.
The Minister expressed appreciation for the RCSS’s continued collaboration, highlighting its importance in enhancing safety and wellbeing within schools. The Secretary General reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to ensuring humanitarian support reaches students and teachers across Seychelles.
Looking ahead, RCSS pledged to broaden its support and introduce new initiatives nationwide, reinforcing its dedication to building resilience and fostering a safer, more supportive environment for children, educators, and communities.
