Fourth Edition of Lanbyans Labriz Celebrates Youth Leadership, Creativity, and Seychelles’ Cultural Identity

The fourth edition of Lanbyans Labriz was held on Friday, 12th December 2025 at the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa on Silhouette Island. Organized jointly by Hilton Labriz Silhouette and the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, the event commemorated Universal Children’s Day, which falls on 20th November. It brought together five teams of students from secondary schools across Mahé, Praslin, La Digue, as well as Professional Centres, for a day of workshops and activities designed to inspire creativity, strengthen leadership skills, and foster unity among Seychellois youth.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in drama workshops, hospitality and dining etiquette sessions, team-building exercises, motivational talks, and a quiz on the history of Silhouette Island. These activities not only encouraged collaboration and cultural appreciation but also highlighted the broader Lanbyans initiative, which emphasizes nurturing future leaders while celebrating Seychelles’ identity.

The event concluded with a lively ceremony featuring the awarding of quiz prizes, the lighting of Christmas decorations, and performances of traditional dance and drama. In his closing remarks, Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, Mr. David Pierre commended the initiative, expressing appreciation for its role in empowering young people and reinforcing national unity through culture and education.
