Since its launch in August 2022, the “School Autonomy” initiative has been gradually transforming education in Seychelles. Initially targeting 11 primary and secondary schools across Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue, this hands-on program is now being rolled out across all 35 schools in the country.
Our dedicated school management teams are continuing their training sessions as part of their learning journey towards autonomy. Led and facilitated by Ms Amina Afif, the sessions are held every three months over a three-week period, and are attended by school headteachers, their deputies, and middle management teams. The program includes rich, engaging, and interactive sessions that discuss the current issues participants face in managing their schools. The initiative aims to support schools in clarifying their vision, mission, and core values, while building the capacity of their staff. By fostering trust among team members and stakeholders, we are empowering everyone to fully invest in improving school quality and building a positive, collaborative school culture.
Together, we are paving the way for a brighter future in education, where every school is equipped to provide the best learning environment for our students.
