Minister David Pierre and Stakeholders Address Long-Standing Traffic Congestion at Bel Eau Impacting Schools

The Minister and stakeholders met on 23rd January to tackle the persistent traffic congestion at Bel Eau, which has disrupted school operations and road users for over 15 years.

Key proposals include continued police presence, introducing trained traffic wardens, a shuttle service to ease vehicle flow, and possible road reconfiguration. The combined use of police officers and wardens was identified as the most immediate solution, with a shuttle service seen as an effective long-term measure.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation, Ms. Veronique Laporte; Honorable Trevor Louise, Member of the National Assembly for Bel Air District; District Administrator Ms. Sylvie Ah-Time and other relevant parties, all underscoring the urgency of implementing reliable traffic management measures.
