The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Danny Faure Foundation on Friday 26th June 2026. The Memorandum was signed by the Principal Secretary for General Education and Curriculum, Dr Justin Zelime and Executive Director of the Danny Faure Foundation, Ms Lorraine Faure.
Present at the signing were the Principal Secretary for Human Resource Development, Mr Jean Alcindor, the Executive Director in the Minister’s Secretariat, Dr Linda Barallon and the Secretary on the board of the Danny Faure Foundation, Mr Larrey Chetty. The event was also attended by other senior officials from the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, Directors, Headteachers and students.
The objective of the Memorandum of Understanding is to establish a collaborative framework for the Danny Faure Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development to collaborate towards a healthier planet, good governance and sustainable development for the present and future generations.
The Foundation has been granted permission to establish its Chapters with primary schools, secondary schools and professional centres under its five chapters namely; Oceans, the Blue Economy, Governance, Leadership and Youth. Activities to be implemented under this MoU include competitions, sponsorship programmes, educational campaigns, mentorship initiatives, workshops, environmental activities and leadership programmes.
Activities under this MOU will be coordinated by the Education for Sustainable Development Section at the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development.
