Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education of Seychelles and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary

The Minister for Education, Dr Justin Valentin signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary for the Republic of Seychelles, H.E Ambassador Zsolt Meszaros, on Thursday 30th November 2023 at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Education. This is the second Memorandum of Understanding that the Ministry of Education signs with Hungary in the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.  Under this MOU, Hungary is providing Seychelles with 10 scholarships in any field inclusive of medical field at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The scholarship is for three years (2023-2026) and covers tuition fees, accommodation, monthly allowance and health insurance. The Seychellois government pays for ticket and a supplementary allowance. So far 11 Seychellois students are pursuing their studies under this scholarship.

Present at the ceremony were the Principal Secretary for Education Services, Ms Merna Eulentin, the Executive Director in the Minister’s Secretariat, Dr Linda Barallon, Director of Education for Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, Mr Jean-Michel Domingue, Chief Education Officer, Mrs Francoise Mein, Chief Liaison Officer, Mrs Vicky Michel, Senior Scholarship Officer, Mrs Barbara Kilindo, the Director General for Bilateral Affairs, Ms Lindy Ernesta and Mrs Louisa Lepathy, Third Secretary for Hungary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism.
