The Minister for Education Dr Justin Valentin and delegation, paid a visit to Mont Fleuri Primary and Secondary schools on Tuesday 31st January 2023.
The aim of the visit was to meet with the respective Management teams and welcome the former Port Glaud Primary Headteacher Ms Shirley Hoareau to her new post as Headteacher of Mont Fleuri Primary. Additionally, until the appointment of a Headteacher for Mont Fleuri Secondary school, the studies dimension is being seen by the Deputy for studies, Ms Rockline Malcouzane, whilst the support services aspect is being seen by the Deputy for student support services, Ms Marie-may Iman.
Discussions centred around the necessity of proper integration as part of the transition process; new approach to lesson planning and delivery; service providers accountability to schools; the need for all staff to work conjointly in order to propel the schools forward; community engagement and so forth…
The Minister expressed: “I am prepared to stand with you and do everything possible for the betterment of education. I want students to be happy…teachers to be happy. As my new motto for this year defines ‘Fer Lekol Gou’.”
Before their departure, the delegation also had the opportunity to observe the vaccination process for Mont Fleuri Primary school students.
