Minister David Pierre visits Glacis Primary School

Minister David Pierre, together with his delegation, visited Glacis Primary School on 13th February 2026 as part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to engage with schools across Seychelles. The visit was a celebration of the Ministry’s dedication to supporting every school, strengthening leadership, and building closer ties with communities through dialogue and collaboration. Discussions highlighted positive initiatives to enhance student performance, including capacity building, the introduction of new programmes such as life skills in primary schools, and efforts to nurture good behaviour and discipline.
At Glacis Primary, special recognition was given to the school’s transition programme, which provides valuable guidance to students moving from primary to secondary education. Through school visits, talks, parent meetings, and counseling sessions, the programme ensures that learners feel confident and well-prepared for the next stage of their education.The school was praised for maintaining a welcoming and conducive learning environment, and for achieving commendable results.
During the visit,the Minister and his delegation toured the school premises, interacting with students and staff and assessing facilities that support teaching and learning. The visit highlighted the Ministry’s dedication to ensuring that schools provide environments conducive to academic excellence and holistic development.
The visit also included an engaging meeting with teachers, during which the Ministry expressed heartfelt appreciation for their dedication and professionalism. Plans were shared for the introduction of a new service scheme later this year, along with consideration of additional incentives to further support and motivate staff. Overall, the visit reflected a strong commitment to advancing national development through education, with Glacis Primary standing out as a shining example of collaboration, innovation, and positive outcomes.
