China–Africa TVET Alliance Explores New Opportunities to Strengthen Education in Seychelles

The meeting held with Ms. Zhang Yujia, the Senior Project Manager of the China–Africa TVET Alliance on 23rd June highlighted strong opportunities for collaboration in education. Discussions emphasized aligning Seychelles’ education system with job market needs and strengthening institutions through capacity building.
Ms. Zhang shared positive outcomes from training programmes that have already benefited trainers and SIT teachers, with plans for further expansion. The joint diploma programme with SIT was commended, and a new MoU is also being considered to broaden training at diploma and higher diploma levels.
Innovation was also a key theme, with proposals for digital teaching resources and the introduction of robotics education to enrich classrooms. Ms. Zhang reaffirmed support for providing equipment to new schools and expressed enthusiasm for expanding into other fields beneficial to the Seychelles. She also showed interest in assisting the new Hope Centre, suggesting a needs assessment to identify impactful resources.
Overall, the meeting reflected a spirit of partnership and innovation, with the Alliance’s commitment pointing to a promising future for Seychelles’ education sector.
