Vision for Strengthening Tertiary Education Cooperation between Seychelles and Tanzania

The Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, Mr. David Pierre and his delegation welcomed representatives from Tanzania’s Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) for a courtesy call on Monday 22nd June.
The delegation, led by Dr. Bill Kiwia, Executive Director;included Dr. Peter Mmari, Ms. Sara Fihavango, Ms. Vildenuanda Loshya, and Mr. Amani Mrutu. Their visit provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation in the field of tertiary education.
Discussions were held in a spirit of partnership, focusing on ways to enhance student support, improve financing structures, and ensure that education systems respond effectively to national development priorities. Both sides emphasized the importance of aligning training with workforce needs, expanding opportunities for students, and fostering open dialogue to share best practices.
Seychelles reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to tertiary education, presenting the role of the Careers and Further Education Agency (CaFEA) in managing scholarship schemes and financing structures.
The meeting highlighted Seychelles’ ongoing education reforms and Tanzania’s commitment to innovation in student financing. It underscored the shared vision of both nations to empower young people through education and to build stronger human resource development frameworks for the future.
