The High Commissioner of India H.E. Mr. Rohit Rathish, called on the Minister for Education and Human Resources Development,Mr.David Pierre on 22nd January. Their discussions underscored the enduring partnership between Seychelles and India, with particular emphasis on collaboration in education and human resource development.
The Minister expressed appreciation for India’s continued support, thanking the government for scholarships awarded to Seychellois students and for short courses provided under the ITEC Program in areas such as Information Technology, Library Studies, and Textiles. He emphasized the value of these opportunities in building capacity and strengthening the education sector.
Minister Pierre also requested further teacher training in specialized fields, including Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), STEM, ICT, Career Education, Higher Education, Management, Entrepreneurship, and Financial Education. He highlighted the importance of equipping teachers with advanced skills to prepare students for future challenges.
High Commissioner Rathish reiterated India’s steadfast commitment to supporting Seychelles. The meeting underscored the spirit of mutual goodwill between the two nations and laid the foundation for enhanced collaboration in education, training, and human resource development.
