The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development convened a Ceremony of Recognition on Friday, 23rd January at the Ministry’s Hall, Mont Fleuri. The event was organized to acknowledge the Ministry’s Office Choir, and most importantly, to pay tribute to Ms. Shirley Arnephie, whose cause was the central focus of the choir.
The ceremony began with opening remarks and an address by the Minister, setting the tone for the occasion. The Office Choir, participating for the first time, delivered a heartfelt performance during the annual Christmas Office and Choir event, which had earned the judges’ vote. Their contribution highlighted the spirit of unity and cultural enrichment within the Ministry.
A key moment of the ceremony was the presentation of a cheque of SR 40,000 to Ms. Arnephie. This was accompanied by a video presentation about her life, followed by the awarding of shields and prizes to choir members. These gestures underscored the Ministry’s appreciation for staff dedication beyond their daily duties.
The ceremony concluded with refreshments and fellowship, providing an opportunity for staff and guests to share in the spirit of recognition and celebration.
