Ministry of Education Honors Long-Serving Staff During Recognition Ceremony on International Day of Education

Staff of the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development headquarters were honored during a Long Service Award Ceremony held on 26th January. The event celebrated the unwavering dedication of employees who have served the Ministry for 25 years or more, many of whom had not previously received formal recognition for their contributions.

Organized to coincide with the International Day of Education, under the theme “The Power of Youth in Co-creating Education,” the ceremony highlighted the enduring commitment of non-teaching staff. Certificates, shields, and monetary rewards were presented to long-serving employees in appreciation of their loyalty and service.

In addition, five retiring staff members were recognized for their invaluable contributions. Addressing them, the Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, Mr. David Pierre, remarked: “Some of you now stand at the threshold of retirement, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, expertise, institutional memory, and unwavering service to the nation, and in particular to our youth.”

The ceremony also marked the beginning of a broader initiative by the Ministry to formally acknowledge the long and dedicated service of all non-teaching staff, reinforcing its commitment to valuing and celebrating the contributions of its workforce.
