The 6th Edition of the National Spelling Bee was held on Saturday 23rd May 2026 at the National Theatre, Mont Fleuri. Organized in collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development and the Seychelles Centennial Women Lions Club, the event brought together participants from both public and private primary schools across Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. Students showcased not only their spelling skills but also their poise and determination before a supportive audience, embodying the spirit of empowerment and resilience.
The competition concluded with Daivik Gohel from Independent School Primary as the second runner-up was , the first runner-up was Doanne Lindcey from Beau Vallon Primary, and the winner was Kyron Hoareau from Perseverance North Primary. Their achievements were celebrated as a testament to the hard work of both students and teachers, reinforcing the values of dedication and excellence in education.
Winners were rewarded with certificates, medals, trophies, and backpacks, a thoughtful combination of symbolic and practical prizes. These rewards not only recognized their accomplishments but also encouraged their continued pursuit of knowledge.
