Russian Delegation Pays Courtesy Call on Minister for Education to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Colonel General Kravchenko Alexander from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation paid a courtesy call on Ambassador David Pierre, Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, at the Ministry’s headquarters on Thursday, 2nd July. He was accompanied by his delegation and was warmly welcomed by the Minister together with his Executive team.
The discussions highlighted the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Seychelles and Russia, particularly in the fields of education, technology transfer, and human resource development. Both sides explored opportunities for collaboration in STEM, hospitality, and marine research, with emphasis on vocational training and academic partnerships that align with Seychelles’ national priorities.
Also present at the meeting was Mrs. Francoise Mein, Chief Executive Officer of the Careers and Further Education Agency. Her participation underscored the importance of linking career development and further education initiatives to the broader framework of international cooperation.
Minister Pierre welcomed the engagement, noting that such partnerships are vital to advancing the Ministry’s vision of building capacity, empowering teachers, and preparing the workforce to meet the evolving needs of Seychelles. The courtesy call reaffirmed the shared commitment to fostering knowledge exchange and innovation as drivers of national progress.
