This years theme “From communities to classrooms: hearing care for all children – Act now so no child is left behind due to ear or hearing problems.” underscores the importance of early identification, awareness, and intervention within educational settings. In line with this objective, the launch featured school-based hearing screenings designed to promote early detection and emphasize the importance of hearing health among children.
The event included reflections, musical performances as well as awareness messages on safe listening practices. In his remarks, the Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, Mr. David Pierre, stated: “This initiative stands as a powerful testament to the value of inter-ministerial collaboration in addressing the holistic needs of our children.”The gathering concluded with a group photo, after which participants proceeded to the hearing screenings.
