AI pilot initiatives aimed at improving teaching quality and student learning outcomes

The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development partnered with the World Bank to introduce two AI pilot initiatives aimed at improving teaching quality and student learning outcomes. The launch took place at the Seychelles Institute for Teacher Education (SITE) on 6th May and was attended by various primary school educators.
Minister David Pierre emphasized that the initiative represents “an opportunity to enhance how learning translates into achievement and ensure every learner reaches their full potential.” The projects form part of the Artificial Intelligence in Education Framework (2026–2030), guided by four principles: human-centered learning, digital well being, responsible engagement, and continuous evaluation.
Workshops led by Martin de Simone from the World Bank focused on integrating AI tools into classroom practice, supporting teachers, and promoting lifelong learning. This initiative highlights Seychelles’ commitment to leveraging technology for inclusive, effective education reform.
