Minister Valentin participated in the 2024 Global Smart Education held in Beijing from 18 -20 September. The conference which was organized by the Beijing Normal University saw the participation of a number of other Chinese University, business organizations, all of which are contributing in this new area of education. Smart Education looks at how technology can positively influence teaching and learning experiences. Minister Valentin was amongst the keynote speakers at the conference. In both of his addresses he shared the experiences of the Seychelles in realizing the major ideas of smart education.
In a side event Minister Valentin chaired a China-Africa-SIDS forum in which the participants discussed how our ways they can collaborate amongst each other under the belt and road initiative.
On Saturday, the minister held important meetings with the Huawei and the U- learning organization. Both firms have began discussion with the Ministry of Education and minister’s visit was together gather more insight into how both Huawei and U learning might be critical in the realization of smart education paradigm in the Seychelles.
